Scripture tells us to envision that everyone shall sit under their own vine and fig tree and no one shall make them afraid. If we’re to live up to our own time,... then victory won’t lie in the blade, but in all the bridges we’ve made. That is the promise to glade, the hill we climb, if only we dare. For over 30 years, Beth Jost-Reimer has worked at Hope and Healing International. The beauty and courage of the kids she meets overseas inspire her daily. Beth ...knows that kids living with disability in poverty are too often told they don’t have value, and that lights a fire in her to do something about it. She understands every child has special gifts and a whole world needs every child. Beth says: All children are beautiful, loveable, intrinsically valuable, intentionally created by God. Every last one has something important to offer the world, their families, their communities. We are all poorer if we hurt their spirits and deny them opportunity. #MondayMotivation See more

You're going to come in contact with an awful lot of people who are at their absolute breaking point this month. Friends, family, neighbours, co-workers, teache...rs, strangers in the grocery store, retail workers. While it maybe the merriest time of year for some, it maybe the saddest, most stressful, loneliest, most heartbreaking for other's. We're all busy. But we're not too busy to be kind, caring and patient. Remember the best thing you can give someone this season is your love and kindness. - Amy Weatherly Season of love and kindness...Be kind

Peaceable Space Fourteen lit candles on the Communion Table. Three roses on the names of the fourteen women who were murdered on December 6, 1989 at the École P...olytechnique. Being women was the reason they were murdered. We said each name out loud so that they will not be forgotten from our collective memories. Pax Romana brought violence to the people of conquered regions by the Roman Empire. Peace of Jesus was offered to those living in fear under the Roman military subjugation. Peace Jesus and his followers envisioned and practiced was born out of the violent contexts of the Roman colonial experience. Sexism continues to be a norm in our society. And, in Christian faith communities. How do we birth Peace that Jesus offers in this season of active waiting? How do we also continue to lift up the names of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls? How do we continue to create and offer peaceable spaces to our neighbours? Richard C. This thanksgiving, let's give thanks. One of the things I've learned is that many of us have difficulties with being thankful for our own gifts and abilities. T...here's often this sense that if we recognize that which is good in ourselves, we're being prideful or boastful. But in each of us are God-given gifts. We're invited to be caretakers of those gifts, to play with them, to get to know them, to expand them, to use them in ways that live into the mission and ministry we've been given as disciples of Jesus. So, I'd like to ask you, sometime this week, to have a cup of something you enjoy with yourself. Sit down across the table, as if you were sitting down with a friend you know really well - someone you trust to know you, too. Let the person across the table from you know the gifts that you see in them. It won't necessarily be easy. But what I'm asking you to do is to treat them the same way you'd treat someone you love, who was wondering what gifts you see in them. You might want to write them down, and take a look at them later. Whether you write them down or not, when you're done the conversation with yourself, after you've had the chance to recognize the gifts.... take a moment and say, "thank you." To you, and to God. We are deeply saddened to pass along the news of Fred passing this week. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. Fred was a talented organist and led the Trinity Men's Choir and more, always producing very wonderful music.

TUC Board is consulting with appropriate professionals for possible causes/solutions for the concerning spread of dark staining in several areas of the church kitchen floor - presumably moisture collecting where it should not be. TUC Board is in contact with two of our regular user groups who had expressed interest in resuming their programs in our lower hall. Our Protocols for building use have been submitted and approved by ECORC. Gov't and Health Unit edicts also to be followed. This is a fluid situation and will be conducted with safety paramount. Happy Thanksgiving to all, Kerri Jebson TUC Board Chairperson

Food for the North Outreach Project of Trinity United Church - October 2020 In First Nations of the far north, people may go hungry even when food is available in stores. For instance, at Oxford House First Nation, 950 km north of Winnipeg, community members pay about $11.00 for a package of bologna or a bag of milk, $15.15 for a 2L carton of juice and $18.99 for 1 kg of ground beef.... As we did last October, loonies and toonies will be collected in labelled pill bottles throughout the month of October. October is stewardship month and the money that is collected will be distributed in food vouchers within the various first nations communities. Last year, Trinity United Church collected $361.00. The money that you contribute will be included in your year end tax receipt and Trinity will receive credit toward their Mission & Service goal of $22,000. In addition, 100% of the money collected goes directly to Food for the North. You are free to use your own empty pill bottles, however, Nancy Henderson has a supply of them from last year. If you require one, please contact Nancy at 705-437-1014 and she will make arrangements with you to have it delivered in a safe manner. The deadline for this project is Sunday October 25, 2020. Please contact Nancy or Llarian (705-432-2291) to have your bottle collected. On behalf of the Outreach Committee, thank you for your support of Food for the North.
