Faith Practices Project: Gratitude Check out this passage from Luke. This passage is full of vivid sensory images: The wetness of tears. The woman using her own hair to dry Jesus’ feet after she wept on them. An entire bottle of perfume poured out as an offering of gratitude. Open a bottle of perfume or essential oil or burn a scented candle as you read the entire story in verses 36-50 slowly, imagining that you were there in the room. What do you see, hear, smell, feel? Share with us in the comments!

Check out the following Bible passages and think about some of the following questions (https://www2.crcna.org//fait/generosity-scripture-readings). If you'd like to share your answers, leave them in the comments below! What would it be like to share possessions with a group of people not related to you? How might you find more joy in giving generously?... How might you remind yourself daily of God’s generous love for you?

We realize that while answering some questions about Gods Sovereignty on Sunday - we also raised some. This is an important and big topic and our church wants to answer your questions. We are looking forward to Scott Christensen joining us. We will begin by asking the zeroing in on these questions in light of Gods sovereignty 1. How do we tell God we love him freely? 2. Why do we take responsibility for our sin? 3. How do we understand evil? After this discussion - we welc...ome all questions from the congregation. As we do not know how many people will be joining us - please send your questions to Pastor Hilary by August. 4th. She will either arrange for you to ask your question or ask on your behalf. Depending on time, we will go into questions such as: prayer, evangelism, limitations of free will, the concept of human freedom, etc. For those unable to join - the dialogue will be recorded. For more information on Scott Christensen: https://www.prpbooks.com/authors/scott-christensen

Pastor Rich looks at Psalm 11 with us. As we face injustices in our world, its important to start with recognizing that God is on the Throne.

Trinity Christian Reformed Church 31.12.2019

To the congregation of Trinity CRC, What happened in Minneapolis and its subsequent responses across the country has spread into the hearts and lives of Canadians, including many of you. As pastors we feel that it is important to offer words of guidance. Sadly, this is not the first time that injustice has made its way into the headlines. In the middle of the 20th century in southern Africa a struggle was waged against the systematic oppression brought on by apartheid. People... today are still crying out against systems and attitudes of injustice, which begs the question if any progress has been made. In 1986 the reformed churches of southern Africa drafted the Confession of Belhar. Using this as a guide to our response to the current situation, we confess that God is a God of justice and that as his people we too stand against injustice. We stand against any and all injustice, especially that directed toward people of color and minority groups. Standing with God against injustice will look different for each of us: for some it may mean participating in local, peaceful protests; for others it may mean engaging in respectful conversations with people who hold opposing viewpoints; still for others it may mean taking a serious look inward at different ways we hold attitudes of prejudice. As Gods people we stand against injustice and stand with those who are wronged. May the words of the Confession of Belhar be to us a reminder of the character of the God we serve, a corrective for any of our views not in line with Gods will for his people, and an encouragement to stand as his image-bearers in our hurting world. The Pastors of Trinity CRC You can find the Confession of the Belhar in its entirety here: https://www.crcna.org//contemporary-test/confession-belhar
