Big Brothers Big Sisters Grey Bruce is asking people to put on their baking hats and tie up their aprons to get ready for Bake for Kids’ Sake, coming Monday, December 7th. During this time, more than ever, mentoring programs are vital to the mental health of our youth. Community participation in Bake for Kid’s Sake virtual baking challenge fundraiser will help BBBS to continue to support local youth. The Bake for Kids’ Sake challenge includes baking a Home-for-the-Holidays th...emed edible house or cookie (plate of 8 or 1 big cookie). Anything edible goes in the house category (for example a celery house). Creations can be made from scratch or with the help of a kit or mix. There are categories for everyone; under 16, 16 and older, and professional. In the professional category, food businesses, professional bakers and chefs will compete for the Creative Genius Award". Participants can register at greybruce.bigbrothersbigsisters.ca/donate/ and pay a fee of $25 to compete in the virtual challenge. Creations can be submitted to BBBSGB by 12:00 noon on December 7th, 2020. Photos and videos will be uploaded on BBBSGB’s Facebook page, where the public can start voting for their favourite creation. On December 15th, the top five creations from each category will be announced live on the BBBSGB Facebook page. The top five contestants from each category will be judged by well-known community members. Final winners will be announced on December 17th. Get ready, get set, bake!

This Sunday, we will be hearing from John Stanley as he speaks on how the church was meant to function as God's hands and feet in the world. For many places in North America, this model has evolved into doing church instead. We will be looking at Matthew 10 and Luke 10. We really hope that you can join us at 10AM on Facebook live.

This week, we jump into our second sermon in the series looking at the letters to the church in Corinth. We will read of a church that has become divided, and seemingly unable to find unity. In life, we can all find it difficult to get on with each other all of the time, but Paul calls all followers of Jesus to find unity in Christ. We are going to be talking about this and more. This week Pastor Mike starts a new sermon series where over the coming weeks we are going to dive into the two letters Paul sent to the church in Corinth. This morning we start at the beginning, looking at how Paul puts first things first.

This week we’re excited to start a new sermon series on the two letters Paul writes to the Corinthians. Water's Edge Ministries is in need of some much needed yard work on September 19th and 26th. The days will start at 10am. Anyone able and willing to help is welcome! Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to row up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

This week Pastor Mike is going to be talking about the the cost of following Jesus. In Luke 14:26, when Jesus talks about the cost of following Him, He says that we must hate our family, even ourselves in order to do it. What does Jesus mean by this?
