For the first time in a while, a bipartisan agreement to fund the US government was reached reasonably quickly. Political deadlock in the US has long (for most of the Obama administration) been a problem that has held back swift and decisive decision making. There has also been good news for the military and border protection, including no funding for the wall a...nd increased funding to update and upgrade existing border protection measures. Despite the unbelievably chaotic election and the gloomy early days of the Trump Administration, politicians in the US have suddenly remembered they are all governing the same country. There has been some weakness in North American growth and GDP in general, which will likely ebb and flow over the coming years as baby boomers continue to retire en mass and Millennials struggle to get up to peak productivity. Everything else aside, the world is in pretty good shape right now.
