Today we recovered a camper that got tossed over onto a boat! Our knowledge and training gave us the ability to recover this casualty with out any further damages to it, or the boat it landed on, Coming back down to its wheels ever so softly . Here is a very sad example of distracted driving and the SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER law. Today this white SUV followed the slow down and move over law while approaching and passing one of our operators who was assisting a customer. Unfortunately the family that occupied the white SUV was victim to a distracted driver who plowed into the back of them with a full size work van. It makes me sick to my stomach, knowing that there were small children in this vehicle that could ha...ve been seriously injured due to someone's neglect for the the laws and rules of the road. It is dishearting that this family who were following the laws and rules got punished! but are thankfully ok. This could have gone alot worse in many directions, thankfully I did not. However... We the general public need to wake up. Put what ever it is that is distracting you away. Leave it for when you are parked in a safe location. For the people who just don't care to take the 4 seconds that it takes to slow down and move over.. stop it. Its not worth the price one pays in heartache and disbelief, its not worth the fine you will pay if caught. Its not worth putting someone's life in more danger than they are already exposed to. Laws are set in place for a reason and "not knowing them is not an excuse" From the bottom of our heart, we at TRK Towing thank the family who did the right thing. We are so very sad that you became the victim in this unfortunate and avoidable accident. We wish you and your children the best and we can't express how happy we are, to know you all are ok. Look who's back! The "Veteran" has made a full recovery! After 2 months of fighting with insurance and 4 months in a Repair shop... we finally got it back. But with six months of sitting idle and hydraulics not being used. We needed to do a full service before heading back on the road. Seized controls and dryed out seals kept me busy for the last week. Tonight i spent the evening replacing the air over mechanical emergency brake cable on our 2017 Freightliner. With the cold weather we have been experiencing it was deciding to lock up when parked outside over night, which wreaked havoc for us in the morning when the tow calls started coming in. Here is my Rant for today! In the area inside the green circle, you will see a disgusting amount of debris left on the street from a previous vehicle collision, for the general public to now run over and possibly damage there vehicle. What makes this ok?? Why wasn't it cleaned up by the towing operator who responded to the accident??? Lazy? Not a care? Doesn't get paid for it maybe? No common curtousy? No common sense? Or maybe he thinks he may get another call out of it?... I'm absolutely disgusted and I'm sure the hundreds of people that will be driving past it or over it, will be too.. I know for one, our company always cleanes up an accident scene to the fullest, to make it look as if the collision didn't even happen. And I know of a few other select Tow companies that do the same. Why? Because we take pride in our industry and we are professionals. Maybe one day we can all take pride in what we do. Tonight I sit in my office doing paper work, but I can't help but think of the career that I chose and love very much. What I and we Tow operators miss out on any and every given day. I sit here and think to my self, in only the last 2 short weeks I missed out on seeing my family almost every day, im gone before they awake and often don't return till they are fast asleep. I've missed fathers day with my family, who were so excited to spend this day with me, but work called a...gain and again. I missed an entire week with my daughters, whome I only get possession of every second week. I've missed breakfast , lunch and supper with my family almost everyday. Tomorrow is my wife and I's 8th anniversary.. I'm most likely going to miss this too.. How its been this long and lasted this long, im not sure.. but I'm truly grateful for. My family is strong. Our love is strong and our happiness is large. This i am greatful for. If you read this, remember this.. this is who you are passing on the side of the hwy, as i miss out on all this, to be there to possibly help you one day. I respect you, please respect me.
