Each One Teach One is an annual youth empowerment program of Project Blue Hands and this year, we intend to create space for a Rite-of-Passage for young men and boys. We will have room for music, art, chess & card games and simultaneously we will be making dinners to give away to the residents in the DTES. Towards the end of the event, we will be walking over to Oppenheimer Park (just mins from The Pace) to share food and warm clothing like socks, gloves & blankets with the people. We are collecting $20 per couple groups to put towards groceries and supplies for this event. Space rental fee will be covered by Project Blue Hands. We earnestly and humbly seek your donations to put together 400 meal bags. We are collecting thermal socks, gloves & blankets or throws to give away to the residents residing at Oppenheimer Park. THINGS WE NEED: $$ purchase groceries & supplies for the event ( We anticipate $750 to make 400 meals) 150 - 200 Thermal Socks 150 - 200 Adult sized Gloves 150 - 200 Warm Blankets/Throws Due to the nature of Oppenheimer Park currently, we recommend not bringing children under the age of 12. Of course, this is to your discretion and we will not turn down younger children. However, for those who wish to bring younger children, they will have a choice to remain at The Pace (event location) and help with the creation of the meals, packaging and partake in the activities of the day. Those with sons 12 and above are invited to walk together as a group to help hand out meals at Oppenheimer Park. We also require 6 to 8 chess boards and decks of cards to use for the day. Please email me if you have one to spare for the day. Youth present will have an opportunity to paint alongside their fathers or mentors and be able to take home their canvas or may choose to donate their artwork for auction. All proceeds will be directly used to facilitate Expressive Art Therapies for refugee children affected by war in the Surrey School District. Please RSVP by January 23rd 2020."

Vancouver alone disturbingly has so many youths from single-parent households who have difficulty connecting with good, wholesome and consistent mentors. Let us take a minute to soak this in and realize that each and every one of us plays an integral part in preventing the continued cycle of chaos in this world. Let us take a minute to realize that we must take responsibility and full accountability to give back to those who need love the most.
