Tomorrow is the drive by senior parade!
Trobak Holistic Counselling is hosting another Seniors Drive-By Parade. We organized a few in the spring when covid first hit and decided to do another for Christmas. People are encouraged to decorate the vehicles and then drive on down and be part of the drive by parade. The drive by Christmas parade will start on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 1:00. Please be there between 12:45 and 12:55 so we are ready to roll for 1:00. Salvation Army will be there collecting food donations and... we will also have a station where people can drop off letters/cards/picture for the seniors. Trobak Holistic Counselling talked with Warren from Moose Fm about mental health at Christmas. Check out our conversation at the link below. Our conversation starts at 14:15 on the video. https://fb.watch/2sFrGkXycB/
We all know maintaining our mental health includes taking care of ourself, so give yourself the gift of good mental health this holiday season and join me and follow along on the 24 Days of Mental Health advent calendar.
The need for control comes from a sense of powerlessness, insecurity and self doubt. As a person believes more in him/herself and feels more confident, he/she can let go of control as it is replaced with a sense of empowerment.
This year is the 23rd Huskies Fill the Bus event and this year, the need is even more significant. Huskies are still organizing Fill the Bus this year but due t...o the new provincial covid restrictions we've had to make some changes. Huskies will no longer be going door to door to pick up food. People can drop food off at the grocery stores; there will be bins provided in each store but the Huskies will not be in the stores. Huskies will be in the parking lots at several different locations wearing masks so people can drop off donations at any of these sites. If you are not able to drop off food but would still like to donate, you can call or text 250 794 1968 on Sunday, Nov 29th and we will come and pick up your donation using no contact protocols. You can also drop off cash donations at the Salvation Army location ONLY (10116-100ave FSJ) #fsjhuskies #goPupsgo #huskies #communitystrong #fsj #salvationarmy #NWJHL #bellmedia #energeticcity #alaskahighwaynews
