I was going to post a warming fall recipe, but who wants to eat soup when it feels like summer?! Instead, here's a sweet, creamy treat that will help you ride out this heat wave and give your skin that summer glow! This Toasted Colada smoothie is not only high in antioxidants like Vitamin C, it is also a great source of minerals like potassium and magnesium.... The coconut milk in this beverage is high in MCT’s (medium chain triglycerides) which is a healthy fat your body uses for energy. The fat source in a meal is also what will make you feel satiated, and actually helps you from over eating! Additional to containing high levels of vitamins, Pineapple contains bromelain a powerful enzyme that is beneficial for digestion. Did you pineapple extracts are topically used in skincare?! Ingredients: 1/2 can full fat Coconut Milk 1 small frozen Banana 1/2 cup frozen Pineapple 1 tbsp toasted Coconut Flakes drizzle of Honey if you prefer it sweet How to Make it: Add coconut milk to blender, If milk has separated into liquid and cream, simply add the entire contents of the can to the blender and blend for a few seconds until combined. Pour out extra milk into container and store in fridge for use within a few days. Toast Coconut flakes for about 1 minute on medium heat and add half to blender, while saving the other half to sprinkle on top.
