Last week the Ted Rogers Students' Society Board of Directors unanimously voted to donate $100,000 from our operating budget to help with supporting more than 2000 students with the TRSM COVID-19 Emergency Fund. Our number one priority is to enhance the undergraduate experience of our 10,000+ members, by providing students with unique professional, academic and social events and initiatives. Since many of our year end events that greatly benefit the student body were cancell...ed, and recognizing the financial impacts that COVID-19 has had on our members, we knew it was important to give back. "Now I’m going to be honest with you and tell you that I was not at all productive since quarantine started. And if you’re on the same boat, know that It’s OK! We’re all going through a PANDEMIC and its absolutely ok to not use this time productively. Your mental health should ALWAYS come first! Since I’ve been stuck at home, I haven’t really picked up on any new hobbies, as I spend most of my time with summer school, Netflix and keeping up to date with the news. From the Aus...tralia fires to being quarantined and having to stay home to the realization of the constant injustices of our world. This year has really shined a lot of light on the imperfections of our world and of human nature. I have to admit, this year has taught me a lot and made me learn things are never as they seem. With keeping up to date with the news, I’ve been spending my time trying to educate myself about important matters such as the BLM movement and the YEMEN CRISIS. 2020 has been overwhelming, but to help keep my mental health in check, I’ve been practicing new ways to de-stress such as taking a daily walk and staying in touch with my friends as they always put me in a good mood. Although we are all at home, we can still make a difference by keeping ourselves up to date and donating to different organizations striving to make our world a better place. With that being said I hope that everyone is working to keep themselves happy and staying safe!" - Namoos Fatima, 2nd Year Accounting See more

"Knowing the person who I was going into university and the person I am now, I could never have imagined such a transformation. Although many things were gained through experience, it was the guidance of older years at TRSM who gave me the motivation to be myself and pursue the powerful entity I am today. I owe so much to those who helped me overcome my fears and allow me to get excited about university in areas I did not realize could deliver excitement. Do not be afraid of the unknown and do not think you are better than the unknown, the unknown is there to be discovered and conquered!" - Stefan Mumford, 3rd Year Marketing
