For all you business owners getting calls about your Google listing. Just Hang Up! All of these are automated, expressing urgency that if you dont act something really bad will happen.. You are then being told that "they" determined your business Google listing has not been claimed and recommend they help. These scammers may even suggest they are an affiliate of Google and were hired to assist. The whole approach is very slick but its a money grab. Only after you have inves...ted time listening to their presentation and start to believe they may be legit will they spring a price on you for their services. I always tell my clients to call me first before making any decision that may affect their website or online business presence. If in doubt, contact your website person and get their opinion. https://www.google.com//every/start/report-robocall-scams/
Something to keep in mind...
Great suggestions
Intersting read.
Interesting concepts. Marketing is all about setting yourself apart. These ideas will definitely help you do that but whether you should use them depends on the type of business you have.
Did you know Google is penalizing your rankings if you dont have a mobile optimized website? However, not all mobile sites are created equal. This post will give you an overview of what you need to know. If you are looking for more information, Id be happy to help.
This is a perfect post because too many business owners get duped by Wanna-be SEO experts, including a few of my clients over the years. Talk to your website designer first before hiring someone to do SEO and run the other way if anyone makes promises that sound too good to be true.
Have you ever made changes to your Website and noticed Facebook using outdated information? I just overhauled a project but the thumbnail and business description was from the old site. Get Facebook to grab the most up-to-date details with this tool: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ by plugging your URL into the Sharing Debugger and clicking Debug and the Scrape Again button.
I am always interested to get to know business owners so I can potentially refer them. If you are considering a Website or overhaul, even better. Consultations are free and coffee is on me!
I am amazed how many business owners dont know their own websites. Maybe its time to review it?
Just received an interesting call from Yellow Pages. They promote a free online tool that supposedly rates your business based on its online visibility. According to them I failed miserably because I was not listed on BING, a bunch of online directories I have never heard of, and of course: YellowPages.ca I did not realize that entering my Website address and phone number would prompt a call from them - I certainly never gave them permission to do so. So of course they suggested I sign up with Yellow Pages to increase my exposure. I responded saying I dont see any value in their recommendations. Their come-back was too creative not to share: "If they dont have any value, why would 27 other companies sign up with Yellow Pages?" Just because 27 businesses waste their money does not make me want to do it too...
Something worth exploring.
Great find! Thanks Linda Daley :)

A website is all about marketing. Marketing is all about standing out and differentiating yourself from the competition. Here are a few great ideas
Really interesting concept, especially for business owners. Its quite lengthy but worth watching.
Great suggestions for those who want to improve the Social Media.
Great suggestions.
A few great ideas to make a call more successful.
Have you ever noticed that on some Websites images take a long time to load? Especially on phones where data is an important consideration, they should always be optimized/compressed to reduce file size. My favourite tools are https://compressor.io/ and https://tinyjpg.com/ that allow you to do this online, free of charge. Youll be amazed how small you can get the file size without losing quality. Try it for yourself - you wont be disappointed.
These come in handy for your social media efforts. Thanks for the great find, Scott!
I am at a loss here. Did Business Insider post this as a joke?? If someone used these "tricks" with me I would be walking out the door. Whats your favourite on this list?
They seem so obvious but are you following them? Not sure how to address #5, considering I share the office with a dog :-)
Very interesting tools for your content creation and website evaluation.
Ever wonder if there are spelling mistakes in your Website or blog you may not have noticed? Dont worry because I have you covered with this cool online tool that can check all pages, shows you how many, and where they are: https://www.internetmarketingninjas.com/online-spell-checke
Something to consider for 2017
Great suggestions. Thank you Scott!
Great message, especially for business owners.
The main objective of any website should be to connect with the potential client as easily as possible. This includes displaying the phone number/email on every page and making the design responsive so it can be viewed at any screen size. Yellow Pages makes 2 separate versions for their clients, one for desktops/tablets and one for phones. The problem is that now 2 sites require updating. A responsive design adapts to any possible screen/browser size, making changes a breeze. Business owners need to keep in mind their Websites are not about them but all about the potential client. What do they care about? What will entice them to choose you over the competition? Yes, good design is important but proper marketing content is just as critical.
You can never have too many inspirations when Social Media is concerned.
