Post op check for an immediate complete upper. This case was done with @perfit_dental and it turned out great. I scanned the models and sent them over and the perfit team took care of the rest. This next post is to do with 3D printing. Once I learned about all this cool new technology I had to get started. The cheapest way to start is with a 3d printer. This is not the correct way to get started, as you need a scanner first. I had access to an intra oral scanner which is what I was using before i purchased a lab scanner. Currently, the popular styles of printers used in the dental field are SLA and DLP. These printers use light sources to cure liquid resins one laye...r at a time untill they form the final product. The main difference is that SLA printers use a laser to draw each layer while DLP forms each layer completely at once, so they print faster. These are so pupular because they offer very high resolution prints. I usually print at 100 microns, but have on occasion printed at 50 microns, and I believe my printer is capable of better resolution but it is not required. Here are some pictures of different things I have printed and the different dental resins I have. Some of the next posts will talk about costs and the printer I have vs other popular ones on the market as well as post processing and getting a file ready to print.
