We have been seeing many cases of Telogen Effluvium in the clinic recently. T.E. Is a temporary self correcting form of hair loss that can occur to men and women of any age. Patients report ‘excessive sudden shedding’ Recently research has been released linking telogen effluvium to the covid -19 virus, but this ‘reactional’ hair loss can occur for many different reasons. The recovery time depends on treatment of the underlying cause combined with formulated topical treatment...s and in clinic guidance. 3 main patterns have been identified with TE: half moon, triangle and band pattern. Band pattern is less common and usually occurs with systemic diseases. Vitamin D deficiency is VERY common with T.E.
