A few days ago I reached a new level of worry... the stress of this COVID-19 pandemic coupled with the disruptions to life as I knew and loved it were wearing o...n me and I didn't know what to do. I almost jumped in my car and drove away (but quickly realized there was no where I could go). Instead, I found myself alone for a brief moment ... and I danced. After just a little time on the dance floor, my perspective began to change. I realized that I could use this time gifted to me to worry and mourn... or I could decide to make it an opportunity for massive growth and inspiration unlike anything I've ever experienced before. I chose the latter. And I'd like to invite you to join me. In this time of increased social distancing, we need our online communities more than ever! Hello dancers, thank you to all who joined my daily online intensive March session. I’m overwhelmed with your positive response and warm messages! Happy to hear... you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed sharing that time with all of you It served its purpose of giving us the opportunity to virtually hold the hands during the transition to the most uncertain times. I was waiting in a great hope to return to the regular studio classes beginning of April but now we’ve learned that our stay in extended for another month, so after a brief meltdown I’m back with more diverse online lessons schedule for this month to accommodate many requests. Here is for April: Monday/Thursday noon - mixed level Tuesday 6pm - beg/int Wednesday 6pm - int/adv Beg/int will lean a little more towards perfecting dance vocabulary; int/adv will focus a little more on speaking dance language. Mixed level will have both of the above with sliding scale difficulty options. All classes include some stretching/strengthening, technique, dance combos/choreo, student interaction, and fun. I also like introducing the music which moves me, occasional personal storytelling, and dramatic inspirational speeches Drop-in: $15 Prepaid: 4/8 classes - $50/$100 Unlimited: $150 I’d need to know your email where to send the zoom link and your choice of classes (the latest an hour prior to the class start time). If you want to study with me but have been financially affected by the current situation please message and we’ll find a solution. My heart is with people temporary or permanently loosing their jobs these days (being one of them I feel the pain.) When I was little there was no Netflix, no DVDs, no even video cassettes. You’d get a newspaper with TV schedule printed on the back, underline your favorites, ...save it, then refer to it for the program schedule. But the highlight was the kids cartoon program running every singe evening for 15 minutes before the bed time, which brought that joyful feeling of stability that no matter how your day goes there is something to look forward to every day... With that in mind during this uneasy time I’d like to reach out and create an opportunity for people sharing the passion for dance to stay on track and stay connected. With lots of our daily routines being destroyed for now, creating a new one will help feeling grounded. Join me every day till the end of March for online bellydance mini lessons via Zoom. Considering the current situation I feel the need to share the knowledge free of charge. You’ll spend half an hour learning something new or practicing something you already know - both is helpful to stay in shape. We’ll be meeting at noon PST as I find that this time might accommodate dancers interested to join us whether they are trapped at home in the USA, Europe, or Asia.
