Treaty Day is held annually on October 1st, and marks the beginning of Mi’kmaq History Month in Nova Scotia. The purpose of Treaty Day is to promote public awareness about the Mi’kmaw culture and heritage for all Nova Scotians. Please join the Truro Police Service in acknowledging this special day.

On 24-09-2020 at 10h30, Cst Steve Labrecque with CN Police was at the Young Street Crossing with a painting company in order to put in some new ‘’look, listen, live’’ sidewalk signs for Rail Safety Week. This is to do with Railway Safety Week, signs at the Young Street Crossing. Sgt Hickox, Cst. Kim and Cdt. Baker also attended this event.

Truro Police would like to advise the public that the Colchester East Hants Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) and officers with the Truro Police are conducting a training exercise in Colchester County on Saturday September 12th from 9am to 5 pm. You may see people from both organizations on rural roads and areas throughout the day. Town of Truro

The Truro Police Criminal Investigation Division have charged 59 year old Richard Devanney, of Truro, with possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography. The offences occurred between September 2018 and June 2019. The accused has been released to appear in Truro Provincial Court in October.

Last evening around 730 pm, the Truro Police Service responded to a call regarding a motor vehicle accident between a vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Marshland Dr. and Robie St. in Truro. As the investigation progressed it was learned that the driver of the vehicle and the pedestrian were known to each other and that the driver intentionally struck the pedestrian. The accused in this matter has been arrested and police are seeking a remand for an appearance in... Truro Provincial Court for Monday morning. Trevor Gerald Archibald, 37, of Truro is charged with a number of offences with the most serious being attempted murder. The victim received minor physical injuries.

Yesterday afternoon the Truro Police Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Webster Lane in Truro. A 33 year old male and a 31 year old female have been arrested as part of the investigation. Cocaine, crack cocaine, pepper spray and a baton were seized during the search. Also seized was a quantity of cash and other offence related property.... Both are facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and have been released to appear in Truro Provincial Court at a later date. This matter remains under investigation and other charges are possible.

The Truro Police Service is seeking the assistance of the public to locate Lance Kenneth Donald Felker 31 years of age. A warrant for his arrest was obtained as he is wanted in relation to 5 break and enters into residences in Truro in May 2020. Police have made several attempts to locate Mr. Felker. Last evening shortly after midnight Truro police responded to a robbery at a residence on Bayview St. in Truro. The homeowner said 2 males entered his apartment, pointed a firearm (shotgun) at him and demanded money. They left after getting a small amount of cash. From the investigation, two males have been arrested and are being detained pending a court appearance. One male, age 22 from Millbrook, was arrested at a residence there. The other male, a 27 year old from Hilden, ... was arrested at a residence in Hilden. The firearm, vehicle used and other evidence related property has been seized. Assisting in the arrest of both males were the Millbrook RCMP and the Colchester RCMP.
