Walk with us February 20th! For decades, our Salvation Army Street Ministry has been supporting homeless and marginalized people in some of Hamilton's poorest communities. Over 360 nights a year, our soup van goes out to deliver food, clothing and emotional and spiritual support to people in need. We would love to have you walk with us on Saturday, February 20 in support of this important ministry. This year, participants are not required to pay a registration fee, and in our... efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, you can walk anywhere on the night of the event. "Captain" Katie has set up a team for the staff and friends of Halton Lighthouse: https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx Despite the pandemic, let's make this 3rd annual event a wonderful night of raising money and awareness of what we do through our evening soup van ministry.

This week's PRAYER FOCUS is a stark reminder of the global imbalances that exist in the response to COVID-19. Please take a moment to pray for our brothers and ...sisters experiencing food insecurity, loss of employment and a surging pandemic in ZIMBABWE and BOTSWANA Territory. "In Zimbabwe, one-third more people are affected by food insecurity this year than last year. COVID-19 restrictions in 2020 resulted in a more than 50% decrease in household income. Twice as many people are now confronting potentially life-threatening levels of food insecurity. Farm families have had to sell livestock to survive, knowing that there are still many months until harvest. With new lockdowns, there are far fewer opportunities for casual or day labour to earn income needed to buy food." https://www.anglicanjournal.com/covid-19-and-global-hunger/
