Operation North Pole The Salvation Army Yellowknife's community hamper airlift program assists eight to 11 communities every year, some a thousand kilometres aw...ay or more. The Salvation Army has been running this program for over 30 years. This year there will be over 200 hampers given out in communities across the Northwest Territories. Yesterday we participated in "A Day of a Thousand Lunches," by distributing winter care kits to members of our community. In total, we handed out almost 100 kits to those in need!
