My dear Tumaini family... I will hopefully leave August 1st to return to our children and I have been asked, if possible, to bring a gently used laptop and unlo...cked cellphone. Might someone be ready for a newer model of theirs and able to donate?? #ThisiswhatwedoatTumaini #tumainilove #tumainimiracles #alwaysgrateful See more
Rafiki yetu! Friends! Today is truly a wonderful day! First, my brother Elishilia Ngyeve (Baba Maziwa) brought me to Ngyani more than three years ago, then, he told me about the many problems at Nshupu Secondary School and we began working together to solve them...last year every girl passed their Form IV national exams and this year Baba Maziwa delivered Imelda Ernest Pallangyo to Msufini School after Imelda earned the first ever Division 1 (highest grade possible) at Nshupu! We thank God and my my brother! #ThisiswhatwedoatTumaini #tumainilove #tumainimiracles #studyonimelda #thankyoubabamaziwa See more
Once upon a time there was an incredibly talented artist I met at the Maasai Market in Arusha, Tanzania, named Kajo...we saw something good in each other and Ka...jo began coming to Tumaini with food, clothing and most importantly a desire to teach our children about his passion, art. He brought supplies and introduced Tumaini to painting! He has become a son to me and I am Bibi and namesake to his daughter, an honour I cannot possibly ever live up to. Tumaini director Leslie Simpson's dad David was an avid carver, especially elephants. Leslie, on her last trip to Tumaini purchased one of Kajo's pieces (shown) as a gift for her ailing father but he passed, almost a year ago, before she could gift him with it and her son Nolan was the beneficiary. Fast forward...nursing school for Leslie's daughter Alaina...graduation and then a plunge into scary times working in hospitals with Covid, WHILE, across the world Kajo's means of income for his family evaporates with tourism stalled worldwide ...the solution??? Leslie has commissioned a custom piece from Kajo as a graduation gift for her daughter which holds special meaning because of her recently passed grandfather! Win/win/win!!! And how is YOUR Saturday? Please consider supporting the work of this incredible human @kajoartstore! Asante! #ThisiswhatwedoatTumaini #tumainilove #tumainimiracles #thankyouessentialworkers #thankyouforlovingus See more

For those of you who remember, last year Baba Maziwa (Elishilia Njeve) introduced us to Timotheo ... you know his story and you helped him regain his dignity w...ith a life changing surgery ... I am excited to share that Timotheo has recovered so very well from his last surgery that he is ready for the next one, to occur on August 4th BUT we need your help! Would just 5 people donate $100.00 each and we will not only cover his surgery, we'll be in a position to buy him some more trousers! Please message your support and thank you! #ThisiswhatwedoatTumaini #tumainilove #tumainimiracles #dignityforeveryone #soproudofthisman See more
