#fishfriday For the 2022 Fishing Derby, Save-On-Foods Pharmacy has confirmed they will be sponsoring Moose Lake! Bringing the total for prizes past the $6500 mark, and growing! Moose Lake Recreational Site is an excellent boating and fishing spot with over 14 Campsites and 2 tent pads. It's the ideal place if you want a quiet day on the water fishing. It's stocked with Rainbow Trout so you won't have any problem reeling in dinner.

#FISHFRIDAY Anglo American has confirmed that they will be sponsoring Stony Lake at our Fourth Annual Fishing Derby. This is the Third year that Anglo has been a major sponsor for this event! Stony Lake lies southeast of Tumbler Ridge and it remains popular for fishing, predominantly Northern Pike. Immersed in history, Stony Lake remains an enchanting site with dozens of archaeological sites that have been discovered around the lake, showings us that the first peoples were also captivated by the amazing scenery!

Do you snowmobile in the Tumbler Ridge area? Have you purchased your Tumbler Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club membership yet? A primary annual Tumbler Ridge Riders Association snowmobile membership is $100.00. Of that $100.00, $36.75 goes to the British Columbia Snowmobile Federation, which is the umbrella for BC clubs. $5.10 goes to office administration expenses, leaving only $58.15 left to go to the actual club to cover grooming repairs, fuel, trail maintenance, cabin mainte...nance, insurances, and so much more. Atop of all of that, the association is the only true voice when it comes to land use, closures, etc. You can purchase your membership by visiting http://www.trridgeriders.com/ or at the Tumbler Ridge Visitor Centre.

Winter trails in the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark are often shared, which means you can cross country ski, snowshoe, and hike on the same trails. To help keep everyone safe, here are some reminders on trail etiquette: Visit www.wnms.ca and check the trail description to know what trails can accommodate the activity you are looking to do. Phone the Visitor Centre if you are unsure. The number is 250-242-3123.... The track set portion of the trail is for classic skiing only! The flat, groomed lane is for skate skiing. Please do not walk or snowshoe on these tracks, there is plenty room for hiking and snowshoeing on other areas. Leave no trace. Pack out everything you pack in.
