This elderly horse with chronic arthritis became more and more difficult to trim, especially in the last year. Dr. Jeremy Frederick and I were granted permissi...on to harvest the fore limbs for scientific and educational purposes, for which we are both very grateful to the owners. These photos show the process and what arthritic changes we found, primarily in the carpus, articular and periarticular. See more

I don't know about everybody else but I am loving these long days of sunshine and warm weather, and great new it's a great benefit for our horses too. Letting your horse absorb sunlight greatly helps with the proper function of joints and muscles.

It is very important to understand the difference between a behavioral issue and a physical one. This is a great article to read to recognize some the signs of a horse with physical issues. If your horse has any of these signs please feel free to contact me to book an assessment today.
Part of my job as an animal body worker is to constantly add to my education to better serve the animals I work with. I just bought Jim Masterson's book Beyond Horse Massage which has some simple yet effective techniques that all horse owners can use to increase their horse's performance. If all goes well I hope to be taking one of his clinics this year.
Kinesiology taping is a great complementary therapy. It can help reduce and control pain, reduce swelling and increase range of motion and improve muscle function. I am now offering kinesiology taping sessions for $50 for the first complete body assessment and taping session and $30 for follow up sessions. The body assessment will include an examination of the horse's movement, range of motion of muscle groups and palpation of muscles for adhesions and body misalignment. ... If you have any questions or would like to book an appointment please feel free to send a message or phone me at 403-926-2344.
Recently I was asked about tension in a horses poll. This article from Practical Horseman explains the muscles that we are talking about when we say "the poll," how to detect an issue with this area and what you can do as a horse owner to relieve this tension. If anyone has any further questions please feel free to ask.
Dogs can be very good at hiding their pain and often we have to look at subtle changes to detect if they have any. Here is a good article to help you check for any signs: https://www.vets-now.com/2017/06/10-signs-dog-pain/
Just like us the cold weather can have negative effects on our animals. Their muscles can become tight standing in the cold and often they will slip on ice causing an injury. Energy work Acupressure Saddle fitting And much more! Horses: $80 Dogs: $40 (Travel fee included) If you have any questions or would like to book an appointment for your horse or dog please message me or call me at 403-926-2344.

My mare Tess has always been a great horse to practice my skills on as she has a couple of issues. Recently she has had a sore back so I got my kinesiology tape out. As soon as I put it on her she released and started to relax.
