This week is Nursing Home Week in New Brunswick and here at Turnbull Home we've been celebrating in several ways. Today we took an opportunity to celebrate "us". 2019 marks the 120th anniversary of the founding of "The Turnbull Home". We had cake and coffee and shared a brief summary of the Home's history. (See below.) We are proud of our Heritage of Care, and so grateful for all of our residents, families and staff. So many reasons to celebrate!"
A few pics from the St. Patrick's Day lunch at Lily Lake.
Do you ever get bored?? Not our folks! Every Saturday morning a great team of volunteers leads a fitness class and the games are great fun! Take a look at the photos and the videos.
A sunny February Friday. Games and listening to favourite tunes.
Thank you to artist Kevin Goggan for giving our residents some beautiful calendars, filled with his lovely artwork. Everyone loves them!
Happy Valentines' Day to all. Thanks to the Men of Fundy for serenading us! Thanks for sharing them Betty M.
Last night was a wild weather night and unfortunately resulted in some flooding at Turnbull Home, water pouring in under the terrace door and under the tiles. The water kept going through the ceiling down to the floor below. What a mess! Staff worked very hard using towels and sheets and a shop vac to help clean up. The Fire Dept. and our Maintenance Manager came in the middle of the night to remove tiles and clear the drainage. Thank you so much to everyone. Thank you to the special staff who stayed a double shift so they could help. And thank you to those who made an extra effort to get here today. We have 50 residents who depend on us and I think we have the best staff ever! Let’s hope this winter gets over early!! Patti Alcorn - Administrator
One of our sweet ladies turned 105! We love you Muriel.
We had our delicious annual Christmas dinner the other day. Thanks to our amazing cooks and staff!! and Thanks to all the families who came to make the day special. Enjoy the photos.
This year we decided to collect warm socks for men's and women's shelters in the City. We strung clothesline on an antique hall tree and named it our "Christmas Sock Tree". So far staff, families and residents have donated over 70 pairs of socks!
On Dec. 4th some of our residents joined many other seniors at the Lily Lake Christmas Dinner. Here are a few pictures.
Margie is one of our Turnbull Home extended family. We are so proud of her!!
Wednesday we had another great Hallowe'en visit from the children at the school across the street. Big thanks to Susan and Allen who provided the spooktacular treats. And thanks to families who helped out, donated and joined in the fun. Check out the great pictures :)
