The Atlantic legend!! Please join us in congratulating Andy Maclean on his induction into the CASI #halloffame! First becoming certified to teach #snowboarding in 1991 (prior to CASI's existence), Andy has held many roles within CASI - Instructor, Evaluator, Technical Committee Member and Chairman, Director, and most recently President and Past President.... For almost 30 years, Andy has been one of the most influential individuals in CASI's history, and in the development of snowboarding in Canada in general. Andy began his career in the industry at Ski Martock Resort (@902martock) in Nova Scotia in 1994, where he is currently the Operations Manager, and has worked tirelessly over the years to create successful recreational and competitive snowboarding programs for Atlantic snowboarders. Ski Martock has been recognized nation-wide and internationally for innovative recreational and competitive snowboard programs and turning out world-renowned pro riders. A passionate snowboarder and snowboard instructor, Andy's commitment to CASI has been evident over the years in his volunteer service, ranging from technical direction in the 90's and 2000's, and most recently on the governance side with his presence on the Board of Directors. Andy represented CASI and Canadian snowboarding at three interski congresses - Norway (1999), Switzerland (2003) and Austria (2011). Andy was part of the Evaluator team to run the first CASI certification courses in China in 2018. Andy also worked as a selector for the PSIA/AASI (@thesnowpros) demo teams in 2008 and 2012; he worked on the @burtonsnowboards kids rental equipment program; and developed Canada's first @burtonriglet Riglet Park, exposing thousands of school kids to snowboarding at school sport fairs, malls, and gatherings. Andy will be formally inducted in the CASI Hall of Fame in the fall of 2020 as part of our early-season training events. Watch for more info on this event in the coming months. Congratulations, Andy!
