At our farm just west of Warburg, we create our handmade pewter and wooden gifts, plus our Twa Dugs Farm homemade garlic products. Usually we sell at craft shows but in this year of Covid 19, we are selling from our farm, outside in the fresh air. We took a little run up to our friends at lovely Gossamer Gallery in Wabamun yesterday, to deliver our first lantern sign post order, made in our farm workshop near Warburg. Our handcrafted pewter art is also in stock in this beautiful gallery. These posts can be ordered through us or through Gossamer Gallery. I just love how our rustic porch lantern sign posts turned out today. They are totally what I imagined in my head when I sketched them. Al and I make these together and are offering them for $95 each, including the hooks, lantern and hand painted sign, plus a little tea light. Our garlic season is winding down so stocks are limited. We still have Chesnok Red garlic bulbs, perfect for eating or planting, usually we plant the bigger cloves and eat the smaller ones. Garlic can be planted up until the ground is frozen, but sooner the better now. Our black garlic was finally ready today ! Yum!

We finally got our garlic in the ground! Planting later than planned, we cracked the bulbs first thing, both mornings, then planted once the snow melted. The soil today was much colder than yesterday! With temperatures dropping rapidly (-12C forecast tomorrow night), Winter is not far off, following a glorious autumn. We've been so lucky here in our lovely little patch of Alberta, Western Canada

Some more pretty garlic braids/bundles from Twa Dugs Farm, the two on the right made earlier today, and the far right plus a lavender are already reserved These make perfect gifts, being both decorative and useful - hang on your wall and snip off a bulb as required. $35 each, made with at least 10 mixed bulbs of our Chesnok Red and Czech Broadleaf. Decorated with dried organic lavender from Vancouver Island, and strawflowers and paper daisies grown here by us from seed and dried alongside our garlic. Finished with a tartan ribbon from my homeland of Scotland. No herbicides or pesticides used. We still have some loose garlic for sale, for both eating and planting.

Our garlic is definitely Gourmet Garlic according to this article! The only things we do differently are - we harvest by hand using a garden fork, and we do not immediately cut our roots and stalks. I like to keep the stalks long in case I use them to make my braid/bundles.

We've decided to open our farm gate again this Sunday and offer our garlic and garlic products for sale. We have 3 varieties of great quality, perfect both for eating and planting, we will have some hand-tied braids/bundles and some jars of our garlic powder and flakes
