More purple please!!!

THANK YOU!!! To every every individual who assisted me in what I am now calling my "Purple Talon" project. I wanted to expand on the theory behind the Purple Light Nights awareness campaign running in October. Building of the idea that hanging purple light bulbs is a conversation starter for shining light on a difficult and devastating topic. I hoped to adorn individuals in beautiful purple polish for others to comment on and the wearer to discuss the significance of the col...or during this month. The people who participated blew me away with their willingness to engage and generosity. Although I waved my fee, many of you insisted on donating. Unexpectedly I collected over 200$ which is being donated to SARA for women in Abbotsford. More importantly. I was honored and humbled by the stories you shared with me about your friends, mothers, sisters, daughters, even your own stories of survival. It resonated for me yet again reach of the issue and the need to continue to shed light on the problem. I have 50+ women who are registered to accept this challenge with purple painted nails, how will you participate? October is a beloved time of year for many. Its due to the beautiful culmination of autumn colors; burnt oranges, honey yellows, rustic browns and even Purple. Purple being the official color of Domestic Violence and October the month recognized to display it. Similar to thePurpleHeart, which is awarded to those who have been wounded while serving, Purple is as...signed for survivors ofDomestic Violence, who may also be wounded both physically and emotionally. Thecolor purpleis meant to be a symbol of peace, courage, survival, honor, and dedication to endingviolence. Purple Light Nights first started in Covington, Washington in October of 2007, as an effort to shed light on this dark societal problem. The continued goal to raise awareness about what healthy relationships look like and work at preventing intimate partner violence with education. The founders recognized that Domestic violence is a difficult subject to discuss, it’s heavy and many people shy away from speaking or doing anything about it, while others simply remain in denial. The ask in terms of participation was and is simple; requesting individuals and businesses to display purple lights in their homes and store fronts. To shine a purple light all month long to honor the victims’ and survivors’ alike. The lights act as conversational starters, encouraging neighbors and patrons to question the intent behind the purple glow. And it’s effective. Since its conception the campaign has grown from Washington to a global outreach spanning 32 states and Canada. Individuals and businesses have not stopped at lighting up their buildings, as creativity and imagination have taken hold. Participation now includes purple ribbon services, organized walks, tree lighting ceremonies, art contests, donning purple in clothing, hair, nails and tattoos, sending emails in purple text, trauma informed yoga events and much, much more. FREE GEL MANICURES! October is approaching, which means so is Purple Lights Nights, the Domestic Violence awareness campaign which is near and dear to my heart. This year I plan to use my side business She Talon to assist in building awareness on this issue. I want to show women supporting women with sporting the color purple on their finger-tips. Purple is the symbolic color for domestic violence. I want to document this with photos collaged together to be posted on socia...l media and forwarded to nail magazines with explanation to our desire to shine light on this issue. To Participate: Choose on of the three allotted days (Sept 29, Oct 2 or Oct 3) for your free manicure using my website, www.shetalon.com. Use the make an appointment button , select gel polish manicure, and select your time. Enter the word purple in the special requests. Attend your appointment to select one of my glorious purples to be applied to your nails, absolutely NO CHARGE. Allow a photo to be taken of the completed manicure.
