Welcome! My name is Wendy and I am an entrepreneur and business owner providing professional business administration and bookkeeping to small businesses, entrepreneurs and anyone that finds administration boring! I have over 28 years experience in bookkeeping and business administration, yes, I know it’s a long time, although it seems like yesterday that I started and formed a construction business with my husband. We successfully built and ran that business for over 18 years.... During that time, we grew professionally and learned a LOT about what it takes to be a successful business owner, one that continually grows and is profitable. In 2008, we sold our business and emigrated to Canada. After two years of having fun and trying out ‘semi-retirement’, I was bored and took a job for a not for profit organization in healthcare. Here, I worked directly alongside the Executive Director and was responsible for bookkeeping and payroll. Again, we worked together to form and grow a team of 21 specialist clinicians in 8 years. Earlier this year I decided it was time for a change, so I resigned and embarked on this adventure. Running a business is not easy, I know. That's why I decided to start this business so that I can share my knowledge as a bookkeeper and fulfill my passion for helping others so that they can become successful. Business administration takes time and consistent effort, and life gets busy. Don’t get bogged down with juggling multiple projects. Happy Thanksgiving Day everyone! How things change from one year to the next ... Last year at this time, I was visiting my parents, family and friends back in the UK. ... This year both my parents died (not from Covid!) so I have had a lot of adjusting to do, but being grateful every day helps me along. I still have a wonderful family, a loving husband, fantastic son (who has a beautiful girlfriend) and lots of great friends for support when I need it. Feeling frustrated can show in many ways but it doesn't have to be permanent. We all feel these emotions sometimes. Finding someone to work through things with is essential. Especially in this world of online working, where it can get very lonely. Reach out and find an accountability partner who will support you through these periods of frustration.... Sometimes things are just not as bad as we make them out out to be. We just need to talk through things with our friends and families and everything seems so much better. I find that if I be kind to myself and show myself some self-compassion it passes more quickly. How do you feel when you are frustrated?
