Some honey bees just do not want to play by my rules. Go figure!

Thanks to Amy,Mikala, Emily and Haley for the hard work bringing in this year‘s crop of honey. We are done! We are really pleased with the average of 90 pounds per hive. This was somewhat exceptional considering that we lost 65% of our bees in the spring. Thanks again to my family of Bee girls. Job well done.

It's hard to see in the video, trust me when I say there are thousands of girls going to visit the flowers.

Comb honey in the making!

Twin Bridge Honey 10.08.2020

Hi Ray from Twin Bridge Honey . Well all the hard spring work has been completed. The bees are looking good. Also we just added our comb honey boxes to our strongest hives and hopefully in the next month or so will be able to sell comb honey. It is our favourite way of eating honey.

Thank you Amy for looking after sales at the market and cutting grass in the bee yards while l was splitting hives. This yard we lost all 32 hives this past winter. They now have been replaced with nukes that we made last year. Bee work is never done. We have been busy making around 100 new hives with our survivors from last year. This if they all take will set us up for next year.

I think we have all seen tanker trucks on the 402. Here's a short video of honeybee tankers

Even though it’s early the bees have started flying. We see this all the time because they’re not the best flyers in the world. This is quite funny

Hi Ray from Twin Bridge Honey. For 33 years I had the privilege of serving my community as a firefighter, the great thing about being involved in a essential service like police, fire, paramedics and nursing. We all have real sense of camaraderie during a crises. We have each other’s back! I see a lot of people help others in Sarnia right know. l love beekeeping for the same reason, they work together as a cohesive group for a common cause. Watching this video reminded me of how bees and mankind can pull together during a crisis. With no school this video has some great talking points on how a strong community can pull together. Feel free to share this video.
