This looks like a conclusion, but it isn't. Thank you to the Herald/Sun for your continued support of Twin Falls Chalet, and Fran Drummond. Parks Canada still refuses to release a statement for the question everybody is asking - WHY?! Parks' removal of Fran's belongings will have to include everything required to run the chalet - propane fridges, hand-made bunks and tables, and even the bottom logs that Fran paid for. When I asked them about that? Absolute silence.
My aunt ... She has taught me such insurmountable strength, and conviction. She has become a role model to me in my later years. What's your favorite memory of Fran, or what has she 'taught' you? Comment below I want to hear all of the lovely stories you have.
Like this picture if you've had one of Fran's delicious muffins up at the chalet! When I stayed there I remember eating those every day for breakfast ... mmm!

Here is an amazing video/documentary of Fran Drummond, from the Whyte Museum in Banff, talking about the history of Twin Falls Chalet.
What a lovely article about Twin Falls Chalet
We got this season - it's time to get more! Thank you to everybody who has been on our side.
I received correspondence from the Canadian Government that our message was going to be passed along directly to Ed Fast, Official Opposition Shadow Minister for Environment and Climate Change. I'm asking again once for voices. I'm asking you to WRITE. Write to Ed Fast in support of Fran Drummond and Twin Falls Chalet. Parliament has heard us, and they need to know now how loud our voices can be. ... Email Ed Fast at [email protected] in support of us. Express your outrage. Fran was granted this summer, with the strength and severity of every single person's voice. With a small amount of effort from each of you, we can work past this - as Parks has stated they would allow her no further. Thank you all infinitely for your efforts. We are staying loud and we are being HEARD.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! In ... September? Every year Fran holds an annual Christmas at Twin Falls Chalet, to close out the season. As you all know this may be her last year. If you have been thinking of trekking into the Chalet for a visit, this may be your last chance. We would like to welcome all well-wishers to stop by this weekend. Perhaps to drop off a Christmas card, or just to meet Fran in her Chalet.... Media, reporters, and writers are welcomed and encouraged. www.twinfallschalet.com For further questions and confirmation please email [email protected] (Please note without previous accommodation arrangements, sleeping/food accommodations are not guaranteed. For more inquiries about the Christmas dinner itself email Jessica)
Life I think, is made up between moments we're really grateful for, and moments we regret, or wish we had acted differently. I'm sure that taking a ten year old brat into the mountains was no easy feat for my aunt, but she knew it would make me a better person. And it did. - Jessica
What a wonderful article from a recent guest. It is so heartwarming to receive such wonderful emails, letters, texts, phone calls and messages about the beauty, and the wonder that is Twin Falls Chalet.

In the last 24 hours, Parks Canada has been incredibly accommodating to our needs in regards to permits for a helicopter. They have been communicative, and Michael Nadler has been on board with helping this cause. Parks Canada has gone above and beyond what I have expected, or could have asked to do. I believe that there is hope, and a possible light at the end of this tunnel, and am hopefully working towards a longer-term solution for Twin Falls Chalet with Fran Drummond Thank you all for signing, and for writing - and please do continue to do so. And thank you to Parks Canada, Julie Van Vliet, and Michael Nadler, for helping us out in this past day.
Fran's vision for Twin Falls Chalet has not changed, in all of these years. Her goal is to simply operate as it has always been - "meant to be", in her words - that these mountains can heal. That is all we want.
Drummond saved the chalet from demolition in the 1960s when the feds started tearing down backcountry outposts with the intention to do the same to her chalet, claiming that it was in poor repair and had no utilities. But the determined entrepreneur battled the bureaucracy and won. The chalet was declared a national historic site in 1969. Parks Canada locked Drummond out of a place that wouldnt even exist were it not for her. - Licia Corbella,... Postmedia The Calgary Sun Calgary Herald The Province See more

The agreement requires Drummond to vacate the tea house by the end of the year and apply in a competitive process for a further license of occupation. Frans niece Jessica Drummond said it isnt the outcome they were hoping for.
The consensus is that its not Twin Falls without Fran Drummonds. The two go hand-in-hand.
