This is a beautiful story.

The 1st Alberta Narratives Project report offered language about climate change and energy that speaks to shared values across Alberta - our new 2d report dives even deeper, sharing language that resonates with 8 specific groups. www.albertanarrativesproject.ca I was so honoured to be a part of this great body of work. So many engaged people and organizations stepped up to the plate to have difficult conversations and find a way to make them easier. I was thrilled to contr...ibute to gathering the perspectives of farmers and ranchers in Alberta. It's a voice I've become honoured to listen to through my work with ALUS Canada. Thank you Climate Outreach, Amber Bennett, George Marshall, Alberta Ecotrust Foundation, Alberta Real Estate Foundation, City of Calgary Your Local Government, and other partners for all of your hard work.

This amazing encounter happened just south of Calgary. I was shown this video by the man who shot it himself, Greg Shyba CEO of Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area. To say I'm jealous of his experience is an understatement!

I'll be speaking about how we need to think beyond the scope of traditional conservation and move to the active production of ecosystem services. Programs like ALUS Canada are helping to bridge that gap. Working with farmers and ranchers to harness their unique and valuable skills to produce ecosystem services like clean water, clean air, and wildlife habitat as part of their farm management just makes so much sense. This year's 2019 Environmental Gathering is focusing on the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Canada can reach our commitments if we think outside the box and are willing to invest in the development of markets and systems which value our social, economic, and environmental contributions.
