Since our annual yard sale in May was cancelled, we have a wide selection of items which have been held in storage for months just waiting to find a new home. This will be the largest yard sale in the Hubbards area this year! COVID-19 protocols including physical distancing and mask wearing will be followed. Free admission, everyone welcome. Please no early birds! We will be ready to welcome you at 9 am sharp!

Tomorrow evening would mark the 74th Annual St Lukes Variety Show held at the Shore Club. With the current environment, we are sad to miss this years wonderful... performances, good cheer and community. Instead, today we can remember the legacy of Sanny Blakney, and look forward to getting on with the show next year in her memory. We hope you enjoy these shots from last summer
On Sunday August 2nd our parish gathered for the first time since March 15th and held a food bank drive for the Hubbards and Area Food Bank.
Announcement Regarding the Resignation of the Reverend Laurie Omstead: July 31st, 2020 Parish of Hubbards c/o Parish Wardens... By email: Catherin Chandler, [email protected] & Susan Aulenback, [email protected] Dear Friends: I am writing to advise you that I have accepted the resignation of the Reverend Laurie Omstead as Rector of the Parish of Hubbards effective October 31st, 2020. At this time, Laurie will take up an appointment as the Diocesan Coordinating Chaplain. Laurie has been your rector for 13 years and during this time has worked diligently in your parish and the wider community to offer sacramental and pastoral care. She has identified and helped to form a team of leaders for ministry in your parish, and has explored different ways for the church to gather in worship and to reach beyond the walls of the buildings. She has also taken the opportunity for continuing education and her own ongoing spiritual formation. You have been the beneficiaries of this time. She has grown in her gifts as a priest over the years and has provided excellent leadership to your parish. These are certainly unusual times and I recognize that this announcement may cause an additional layer of stress to that which we are already experiencing due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Parishes all over the diocese and all over Canada are going through significant transitions. Before beginning a Canon 25 process to search for a new rector, I believe it would be beneficial for the parish to take a serious look at what the future shape of ordained ministry might look like for your parish. This conversation can begin in the early fall with facilitation from your Archdeacon and the Parish Vitality Coordinator. A decision about the beginning of a search process will rest with the Diocesan Administrators. I am sure that in the remaining time, you will find ways to show your appreciation for Laurie`s ministry before she leaves the parish. Regional Dean, the Rev. Carl Fraser, will work with you on the Signing Out Process. Every blessing for the months ahead, The Most Reverend Ron Cutler Archbishop of Nova Scotia & Prince Edward Island Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of Canada cc. The Rev. Laurie Omstead Archdeacon Tammy Hodge Orovec The Rev. Carl Fraser, Regional Dean The Rev. Canon Gordon Redden, Diocesan Executive Director Ms. Tammy Cummins, Payroll Administrator The Rev. Canon Lisa Vaughn, Parish Vitality Coordinator See more
