As we shift into February, we would like to take this opportunity to remind you about our altered service delivery here at The Women’s Resource Centre. Since our province remains in Code Red, we continue to be closed to the public; however: Counselling, advocacy, assistance with protection order applications, and third party reporting are available over the phone, email or video conference... All programming is being offered virtually Breakfast items and hygiene supplies are available outside our door during our regular hours of operation For more information or any other inquiries, we are available over the phone or email during regular business hours We will continue to reassess our strategy as the COVID-19 situation evolves in Manitoba over time. There is still time to register for the Love Your Selfie Workshop happening this Thursday, January 28th at 7pm via Zoom. Building healthy body image - in a world driven by media and unrealistic beauty standards, how we understand our value and self worth is especially important. The workshop is all about exploring self love and acceptance and aims to create a safe space where participants feel comfortable talking about our bodies and how we feel about ourselves as a whole. ... The goal is to generate positive discussion surrounding body image and self care and connect with other participants in a meaningful way. Participants will leave this workshop with a greater understanding of where feelings of self-doubt and self-consciousness come from and tips, tools and resources to tackle any future feelings and situations. The Women's Resource Centre is currently seeking a part-time Community Resource Advocate to fill a term position available immediately. The advocate is responsible for meeting with clients to help them effectively navigate available services in Western Manitoba.
