The Spartans continue their hot streak of commitments with the addition of 6’5 defenceman, Landon Fuller. Landon wrapped up his junior career posting 24 points in the 2019-20 campaign for the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL. Quote from Head Coach Barret Kropf: Landon is going to be an impact player for our program! We are extremely excited to be adding such a great young man to our school and hockey team! A true leader, Landon has been a part of some elite programs in both the WHL... and BCHL. His size and strength have been a staple of his game with the Vernon Vipers and Vancouver Giants in their league championship games last year. That type of pedigree will be counted on as we transition into the Canada West conference, but I am more excited about the character of Landon! He will be a true culture carrier for us, and I’m excited for him as he takes this next step in his career to see how God will continue to shape him. When asked why he decided to attend TWU, Landon states, Trinity Western is a school that I feel is a good fit for me personally and spiritually as a person. I'm excited to start a new chapter with the Spartans as they join U-Sports. Welcome to Sparta, Landon! See more

The TWU Spartans are proud to announce the signing of 6’1 forward, Josh Boelema. Josh is from Aldergrove, BC but spent the last two years honing his skills at Briercrest College where he led his team in points (25) in the 2019-20 season. Spartans Head Coach, Barret Kropf states, Briercrest has been a perfect place for Josh to develop his hockey skills and mature as a young man. He has proven he can score at the ACAC level, and as he makes the transition with us to U-Sports, ...we know his work ethic and desire to continually improve, will give him the tools he needs to help our program in the years ahead. When asked why he chose TWU, Boelema states I am excited for the opportunity to play hockey at a higher level that is close to home, while at the same time being able to further my academic studies and grow in my relationship with the Lord. Welcome to Sparta, Josh! See more

The TWU Spartans Men’s Hockey team is starting to gather top prospects from various junior leagues across the country, and is excited to announce the signing of Jeremy Klessens for the upcoming Canada West season. Klessens was an assistant captain with the Drayton Valley Thunder of the AJHL the past two seasons, where he racked up an impressive 59 points in 58 games this year. The veteran of 5 years in the AJHL will bring speed, scoring and leadership to the Spartan forward g...roup in the 2020-21 campaign. Head Coach, Barret Kropf is excited to add the scoring depth of Klessens, As our all-time leading scorer Evan Last rides off into his accounting career, we knew we needed to replace some fire power. Jeremy is exactly what the doctor ordered, and we will be leaning on him to fill some big shoes vacated by Evan. As a leader, and seasoned junior A veteran, I know that he can handle the task, and we look forward to having him join Sparta and continue to add to our culture of excellence. The Thunder leading scorer and team MVP has this to say about jumping on board with the Spartans, I am super excited to join such a great school and hockey program. I am ready to get things going and start a new journey! The incoming freshman will be studying Education in the fall, and Spartan Hockey is excited to have him be part of the transition to U-Sports. New Recruit TWU Spartans Mens Hockey team is excited to announce the signing of Travis Walton. The Abbotsford power forward will be joining the Spartans for their inaugural season in the Canada West Conference, and brings with him 3 years of WHL experience from the Kamloops Blazers. Walton spent this past year as a leader and assistant captain on the top ranked Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL. Head Coach Barret Kropf describes the 6’3 left winger as, a natural leader who wi...ll add some valuable depth to our lineup. Travis has been on our scouting list for a few years, as our assistant coach Chris Trendall worked with him while at MEI School in Abbotsford. With each step in his hockey journey, Travis has shown to be a leader on and off the ice, and we look forward to having him contribute to our culture of excellence. While playing for the Kamloops Blazers, Walton won the Academic Player of the Year award, and he looks to continue that educational excellence while studying business at TWU.
