Evening Grosbeak These beautiful birds tend to stick together in a flock and will roam in search of food. This male kept flying back and forth between branches making it hard for me to photograph him. He finally landed and sat for 4 seconds and I was able to get this photo of him. Short-eared Owl Owls are one of those birds that I find really elusive and hard to find. It likely has something to do with most of them being nocturnal so they don’t bring much attention to themselves during the day. The short eared owl hunts primarily at dusk and dawn flying low over grasslands in search of its prey. I was fortunate enough to photograph this one at dusk while it was perched on the post. ... Up and Away Although this photograph is far from perfect (the tips of its wings are cut off) I still like it. It showcases just how streamlined these birds of prey are. Marsh Wren While walking through a local park, I heard a chirp I wasn’t familiar with. I paused and waited to hear the sound again so I could locate the source. I faced the direction I thought it was coming from and suddenly this marsh wren emerged from the grass. It bounced around chirping for about 5 seconds and this was the only shot I got that turned out. I waited for it to appear again but it had other plans.
