The UBC Centre for Community Engaged Learning is hosting an event next week entitled: Transformative Justice: Building from Community on November 5th, from 5-7pm. The key note speaker is Dean Spade, a law professor teaching Race and Law, Poverty Law, and Policing and Imprisonment. The event will also feature two speakers from Pivot Legal Society, Meenakshi Mannoe, and Nicolas Crier. They will speak about the harms of drug criminalization and incarceration in British Columbia.
