Congratulations to one of our special TBirds Alum Tim Frick on his recent appointment to the Order of Canada! Tim had an extremely successful tenure with UBC MVB, including being part of the 1976 National Championship winning team that was inducted into the UBC Sports Hall of Fame just a few short months ago. Tim’s impact in sport since his time in the Blue & Gold has gone much, much further than just on the volleyball court. Tim has been instrumental in the devel...opment of parasports in Canada, including time spent coaching Canadian icons Terry Fox and Rick Hansen. Tim served as the Head Coach of the Canadian Women’s Wheelchair Basketball team between 1990-2009 where they were incredibly dominant on the international stage, winning three consecutive Paralympic gold medals and four consecutive World Championship titles . Thank you Tim for all you have done for parasport in our country and for being a true national hero. You are an incredible ambassador for sport and for the UBC Men’s Volleyball program.
