They are an incredible poet and musician who will be perfo...rming at our Slamily Reunion Showcase this Friday! INTRODUCING ANGELICA, the 2019-2020 President of UBC Slam Poetry and the first of seven incredible poets who will be performing at our Slamily Reunion Showcase ...on January 29th! Angelica (they/them) is a queer non-binary Russian-Jewish poet whose poetry has took them to Switzerland, the United Nations, TedXBC and opening for Shane Koyzcan even! UBC SLAM was an amazing place for Angelica to cocoon as a poet and grow in the wealth of all the love! They are honoured to come back and perform and do a workshop! Angelica has been leading workshops in schools, libraries, with youth groups, in community centres, and dozens of festivals across North America on how to claim your power through poetry. Much of their activism, has been devoted to queer and trans celebration and dreaming beyond patterns of trauma. An intuitive empath, their practice is informed by nurturance culture building and poetry as a political, personal, and spiritual power.
