Hi UBC family, hope you all are enjoying this holiday season! As some of you may know, we here at UBC SPIHC will soon have a cookie fundraiser for the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone. Although cookies are SUPER delicious (and we're sure you're already e-transferring that $25 for your baking kit/signing up to volunteer as our cookie runner), we also wanted to just give you some context behind what we're fundraising for. So check out these slides to learn more about the Maternal Center of Excellence in Sierra Leone!!

Hey UBC family, we here at UBC SPIHC sure hope your exams went super well and that your holidays are off to a happy start!! Now even though we may or may not already be on holiday mode, that doesn't mean our passion for global health around the world has gone offline. Before we start binge-watching all the great shows we've missed because of school, we just wanted to voice our support for #resultscanada campaign to #endcovideverywhere by echoing their message here: Dear Prim...e Minister Justin Trudeau, Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland, and Minister of International Development Karina Gould: This holiday season, we celebrate Canada’s contributions of approx. CAD$1.1 billion to the global pandemic response. However, as we head into 2021, we recognize that the work is far from over. With #COVID19 still circulating, we must continue to ask Canada to invest at least 1% in additional global aid, so that we can start a new year filled with hope for all. #Canada4Results If you're interested in voicing your support, PLEASE share this post! You can also find out more about Results Canada's campaign here: https://resultscanada.ca/actio/use-social-media-campaign-1/ Oh yeah btw, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
