Henna is made from the henna tree. It is a must in most of the Indian festivals and marriages. It is made in different designs and can cover the full palm, hal...f the hand or much further depending on your liking. The soul becomes dyed with the colour of its thoughts. The different designs of the Henna show us the different perspectives and views through which we can see the world and make sense of it. The longer the henna is allowed to stay on your hands, the darker is the resultant colour which signifies love and happiness. It signifies that good things take time and and patience gives rise to beautiful results. Come join us at our #Hennazoomevent and learn some beautiful Henna designs for Diwali this year with @hennadoodlessss @ragini.sharma23 . . . #utsavkidiwali2020 #utsavkizoomwalidiwali #diwali2020 #canadadiwali #vancouverdiwali #ubcdiwali2020 #ubcutsav #ubcutsavdiwali #onlinediwali #utsavonlinediwali

Diwali is celebrated during the homecoming of Lord Rama after fourteen years of exile. Diwali is a festival celebrated over 5 days and is a lot more than just firecrackers and sweets. Day 1- Dhanteras- Worshipping Goddess Lakshmi and purchasing gold. Day 2- Naraka Chaturdashi(Choti Diwali)- People apply aromatic oils on themselves before showering to get rid of impurities and sins.... Day 3- Lakshmi Puja- Sacred ceremonies are conducted at homes and gifts are exchanged. Day 4- Govardhan Puja- Lord Krishna defeated Indra by lifting the Govardhan mountain on his little finger. This day also marks the beginning of the new year for some! Day 5- Bhai Dooj- Sisters pray for their brothers’ long and happy life and brothers give them gifts. Each day of the festival is a representation of something unique, we need to integrate those skills of love and selflessness and destroy the darkness with the light in our hearts! #UtsavkiDiwali2020 #UtsavkiZoomWaliDiwali #diwali2020
