Hello Visitors and Campers The museum will be officially re-opening for the season this Wednesday June 24th 2020. The museum will be open Wednesday Sunday from 10am 4pm, and closed on Monday and Tuesday. If you wish to visit the museum you must book by appointment only, by email ([email protected]) or telephone (613-373-2632). Covid-19 restrictions are going to be implemented. Visitors must sanitize upon entry and follow social distancing protocol by remaining 6 feet away from the staff and other visitors. Masks and gloves are mandatory while doing research in order to keep everyone safe. Also, the gift shoppe will refrain from selling any food or drink items this season; sorry for any inconveniences. Christmas in the Park Event Details: Campers are encouraged to bring a gift, wrapped with your child’s name on it. - Please keep gifts under $20.00) for each child. ... - Gifts can be dropped off at the Gate House by 12 PM. The Parade starts at the Museum for 1:00 PM. After the Parade Santa will be visiting at the stage. The Christmas Movie will occur at dusk. BEST SITE CONTEST: THEME Festival of Lights (Sites will be judged at night because Christmas is all about the twinkling lights and of course Santa! We are really happy to have you join our team here at the U.E.L. Museum as our newest Museum Interpreter/Research and Resource Assistant. Welcome abroad, Eric! Hello my name is Eric Flood, and I am the newest summer staff member at the United Empire Loyalist (U.E.L.) Museum and Heritage Centre. I am very enthusiastic about this job opportunity, because I am a history buff, currently in college, studying Ancient Greek, Roman and Russian history. In the fall, I will be return...ing for three more years of study to get my Bachelor of Art degree in Museum Curatorship and Ancient History Studies. This new role provides me with the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of the rich history of Loyalist Township and the accomplishments of it’s founders. It has long been a goal of mine to work in a museum and to explore it’s fascinating artefacts and records. It is also my pleasure to work with the general public, assisting others with their research on their families and the fascinating history of this great community. This experience will help me achieve my long term goal of working in museums around the world. It is an honour for me to be part of the U.E.L. staff, and I enthusiastically recommend the museum as a great place for individuals and families to visit.
