We close our Cascades Academic Honours with the President’s Shield, recognizing the team with the top cumulative GPA for 2019-20. Cascades women’s volleyball takes the top prize, combining for an outstanding 3.66 GPA! Twelve student-athletes from the squad managed at least a 3.5 GPA individually an incredible accomplishment. Co-captains Amanda Matsui and Kara Williams rep the squad in the photo and quote slide below, respectively. It’s pretty special to see how hard WVB wor...ked and how well they supported each other on their way to this award! A couple factoids about the President’s Shield: It was established in 2008 by former UFV president Dr. H.A. Skip Bassford. This year’s 3.66 GPA from women’s volleyball is the second-highest in the history of the award. Rowing posted a 3.72 in 2009-10. Women’s volleyball is the all-time leading program in President’s Shield wins with six. This is their first since 2014-15. #PresidentsShield #WeClimbWeConquer
