Hi everyone! My name is Aidan, I’m a Kinesiology student here at UFV. This post is directed at physical and mental wellbeing in a university student’s life that may impact their ability to get the recommended amount of 150 minutes of physical activity each week. My goal with this post is to help share a bit of what I struggle with in the hopes that some part of this video connects and resonates with something you struggle with as well. We all want to strive to be as active an...d healthy as we can be, so why not help each other along the way by giving advice we find helpful! In this video, I speak about my struggles with: https://youtu.be/tHrkkMui7-c Perfectionism (trying to do everything at once and losing balance) Consistency (overwhelming myself and letting consistency slip) Priorities (understanding that it is okay for priorities to change) I hope this video helps you strive towards positive wellbeing, as well as reach those 150 minutes of recommend physical activity! Enjoy the rest of your day, be kind to yourself, and let’s try to aim for 150 together! Sharing a fun 10 minute movement video for everyone to try. It’s is a bit silly, but that is what is so great. It is so important to take quick movement breaks while studying or working virtually. I hope you all enjoy it (Not into yoga? Don’t let the word yoga stop you from doing this movement break it more than yoga)

Please find the fillable weekly tracker at myCampusLife https://mycampuslife.ufv.ca/event/170151 Post on Instagram challenging a friend to join you using the hashtag #UFVcampusrec #movemore and tag us @ufvrec Why should you build your physical strength? The benefits of building muscular strength and endurance include an increased ability to do day to day activities without getting tired, reduced risk of injury, and it helps you maintain a healthy body weight. Building our physical strength not only leads to stronger muscles and bones but it can also help us build out mental strength and lead to improved confidence and a sense of accomplishment. What is the importance of tracking your fitness progress? It is important to track your fitness progress because it makes it more likely that you will reach and exceed your goals. Having a clear goal and ability to track your progress can lead to more efficiency in your workouts and better time management. Tracking your progress helps reinforce and to remind you why you are working towards a fitness or health goal. Tracking your progress acts in a way to keep you committed to your plan.
