Another substantial part of my life is my nutrition. Michele and I are currently on a 21 day sugar detox. This one is hard core with almost no fruit. So we've made these cupcakes to help make it easier. Going without sugar is tough. I especially have a hard time with it and always feel hungry. They're fun to make, and super simple. NO SUGAR!! This weekend a client hosted a trim party. We had 3 varieties. One client just had us clean up their medium and small buds. The Ultratrimmer really excels here. What would take hours and hours is a quick 10 minutes. The other client had some really nice tops that turned out beautifully! These were mostly unknown strains that were all completely natural with no feeding programs. Just em fly!... The highlight of the day was the social aspect of getting some people together for an afternoon. I was working with a medical client today and they couldn't believe how quickly the Ulratrimmer cleaned up their buds. They were saying that last year it took almost a week to trim and by then it had gotten too dry. They also had a lot of small buds last year that just didn't get in the "good pile" because they'd had enough of trimming. Today, they got all the buds they want, and all the rest (trimmings) is going to their extracts with MCT and coconut oils for cooking, tinctu...res, salves and lotions. I really enjoy sharing what I've learned about this plant and that is part of my service. My current drying solution is super simple, but it works great. Every year its been 7 to 10 days. It’s a detached garage with no insulation so it’s got lots of air flow. I hang the 4 plants staggered around the centre of the room and set up 2 fans so each plant is getting some nice breeze. On nice days I open up the door and let more natural air flow through. If you have a large enough space like this it’s the way to go. If you’re going to dry inside then environmental parame...ters start to become a little more critical. Some people use a cold room. This can be great if it’s a dry one. But make sure you keep a close eye because it can dry too fast and your buds will get brittle. The best is that 7-10 day range but if it happens in 5 be ready for trimming. Some use a grow tent as well. These can be great. But they can also be a nightmare. They’re fairly air tight, and they’re plastic. So, to make this work we need a few tools. First, a circulation fan. We need to move the air in there, LOTS. Next, we need an exhaust fan to move the air out and pull in new air. Finally, do yourself a favour and get a dehumidifier. It’ll make your life a lot easier through this process. The last thing you want is for your cannabis to become a burden. Each of these tools will work together. The exhaust fan regularly exchanges the air which takes some load off the dehumidifier so you don’t have to empty it as much. The circulating fan keeps the air mixing in the tent which helps our cannabis to dry more evenly and the sensors get a more accurate reading on the dehumidifier. Either way you choose to do it. Both of these methods keep it fairly simple. You don’t want to have to check it every hour. Keep messaging with those questions folks and I'll keep posting about these and other cannabis topics.
