It's not official unless it's on Facebook, right? The Faculty of Law teaching awards would normally have been announced at Grad last Spring but due to a little hiccup known as the Global Pandemic, we postponed this until now. Congratulations Dr. Amar Khoday, winner of the 2020 Barney Sneiderman Award for Teaching Excellence and Natasha Brown, winner of the 2020 Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence for Sessional Instructors (Practicing Professionals).

December Round-Up: Now that classes are over, our professors are getting busy! Dr. Gerard Kennedy has been talking to the press about various administrative law issues (see his comments in The Winnipeg Free Press: https://bit.ly/2WsUqd7) Associate Professor Brenda Gunn was a featured Indigenous Scholar regarding her work on UNDRIP https://news.umanitoba.ca/metis-scholar-explores-the-impor/ on top of publishing an important Opinion piece in the Globe and Mail (https://news.um...anitoba.ca/globe-and-mail-op-ed-what-canadi/) Dr. Amar Khoday and Natasha Brown won our Annual Teaching Awards (https://news.umanitoba.ca/law-faculty-teaching-awards-anno/) Dr. Virginia Torrie, Editor in Chief of the Banking and Finance Law Review released the latest FinTech issue (URL coming soon!) Dr. Kjell Anderson's new book "Researching Perpetrators of Genocide" was released by the University of Wisconsin Press (https://uwpress.wisc.edu/books/5833.htm) and as previously posted, newly-minted PhD, Dr. Krish Maharaj was cited by the SCC (https://news.umanitoba.ca/um-law-prof-cited-by-supreme-cou/)! And December's only half over.

Thanks to all our Alumni who attended our virtual homecoming Nov 5 at which we honoured Professor John Irvine with a Lordship (yes, on Guy Fawkes' Day!), & heard a fascinating discussion between Jack R. London (Robson Hall's "Blue Jean Dean" from 1979-1984) and Acting Dean David Asper. Missed it? Watch it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48KywqrlKUY&t=1608s or read the wrap story: https://news.umanitoba.ca/home-is-where-the-heart-is/
