Its called fashion Barbara! As a teenager and young adult Barbara would walk to the local corner store and pick up the newest issue of Seventeen magazine, Barbara would lie on her bed flipping through the pages, filling out the quizzes and analyzing what the models were wearing. Barbara would head off to the mall with a group of friends looking for similar styles she saw the models wearing in the magazine. Putting on those pieces of clothing made her feel pretty and cool.... When she looked in the mirror she would see herself on the pages of @seventeen magazine. As Barbara got older her body changed, but her desire to dress trendy didnt, unfortunately she didnt understand her body shape. Wearing some of the trends actually made her look older, bigger and made her see herself as fat and ugly. She stopped trying started wearing t-shirts and yoga pants every day. Barbara sent me a message a few weeks ago asking for my help, she had reached a point were she wanted to look in the mirror and see herself as she once did. We started with a wardrobe audit, this gave me the chance to see what she was currently wearing, the pieces she had bought but didnt wear and talk to her about her body. I also took Barbara shopping to educate her on what styles, colours, length and fit to look for and what to stay away from. When you feel beautiful you are unstoppable. When this photo shoot was taken my life was changing forever. My spouse was in the midst of checking out, my self worth and confidence was the lowest it has ever been. I was uncomfortable in my own skin, and hated what I saw in the mirror. There were days I sobbed uncontrollably, all the negativity dripping down my face. My wardrobe reflected how I felt on the inside, wearing sweatpants, t-shirts and Uggs on a daily basis. I dec...ided it was time to invest in myself and begin the journey of self love. The plague doctors wore a full face mask which had a bird like beak that was half a foot long, a stocky wife brimmed top hat, with floor length coat and gloves. Theyre ensemble was covered in scented wax. The beak of the mask was stuffed with strong scents such as spices, peppermint or even vinegar soaked sponges (that will make your eyes water ) Before germ theory was discovered, it was believed that the plague was spread through the horrific smell of its victims. What is your dress code and what industry do you work in? There are essentially 7 different dress codes for business. 1. Active; this is usually dedicated to the fitness industry. 2. Casual; usually would consist of jeans and T-shirt/ top. Comfortable flats or sneakers. 3. Business casual; slacks with a fashionable shirt, comfortable fashionable flats or simple heels. 4. Smart casual; slacks or dark coloured jeans, collared or dressy top, with a b...lazer, formal shoes. 5. Business; business suit or dress with heels/dress shoes. Men must wear a sports jacket/suit jacket with a tie. 6. Semi-formal; little black dress/evening dress, hem shouldnt be any shorter than 1 above the knee. Separates are acceptable as well.
