*******************RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY***************** My name is Haley Wall. I am a student in the department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Lethbridge. We would like to get your opinion on some messages designed to inform older adults about sedentary behaviour and encourage them to move more in their daily activities. We are inviting any older adults (age 65 or older) who are able to stand independently and read English to participate in an onl...ine survey that will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. Data collected from this survey will be used to create a toolkit to better help older adults reduce or break up their sedentary time and move more throughout the day. We will ask you to give your opinion on various messages designed to inform older adults about sedentary activities and ask you to rate the information and provide feedback. The survey is anonymous so we will not ask for your name, but we will ask for some background information about yourself. You may learn some tips on how to limit or break up your sedentary time and contribute to research that will help us understand the best way to inform people about strategies to manage sitting time. There are no known risks for participating in this study. Participation is completely voluntary and anonymous. You may withdraw from the study at any time without a reason. We appreciate your time spent completing our survey and we would like to thank you by offering you a chance to win a draw for a $100 Mastercard gift card. Your odds of winning the gift card are approximately 1 in 150. If you win the draw, you will need to complete a skill-testing question to receive the prize. If you wish to be entered into the draw you will be taken to a separate screen after completing the survey to provide your name and contact information. Your name for the draw will not be associated with your survey answers. If you have any questions regarding this research, please contact us at [email protected] or 403-332-5207. If you have any other concerns about your rights as a participant you may also contact the Office of Research Ethics at the University of Lethbridge at 403-329-2747 or [email protected]. This office is independent of the researchers. If you would be interested in completing the survey, please go to the following URL: https://uleth.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7PdXLpz9Qj3iobr Thank you in advance for your participation.
