Hey everyone! Today we have a really great idea to share with you, and that is how to make homemade beeswax food wraps! Using beeswax wraps to replace plastic wrap is a much more sustainable way of storing food, and can greatly cut down on your single-use plastic consumption!... To start this project, you will need: Cosmetic-grade beeswax pellets 100% cotton fabric Scissors or pinking shears Brush Parchment paper Baking sheet Hanger (optional) Binder clips or clothespins (optional) Simply preheat your oven to 250 degrees, and start the project! :)

Happy Friday everyone, We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone that participated in our sustainability week events. We hope you all learned something that you can apply to your everyday life. For our final event, we have a quiz for the world overshoot day. This quiz calculates at what point in the year you will reach a non-sustainable lifestyle. This is a great resource for getting a reliable idea of how large your carbon footprint is, and how to help reduce it!... Stay tuned for our prize draws that will be announced very soon! Good luck to all, and again thank you for making this week awesome! https://www.footprintcalculator.org/

Hey everyone! Day 3 of sustainability week!! Recycling is one of the easiest things you can do as an individual to have a positive impact on the environment.... If you still ask yourself why to recycle, here are some benefits of recycling. It saves energy - using recycled materials in the manufacturing process uses considerably less energy than that required for producing new products from raw materials. It conserves raw materials - by collecting used plastics, metals, and glass, and processing them into new materials, we reduce the need to extract, refine, and process fresh resources from the Earth. Reduces Landfill Space - by gaining more participation in Recycling we can significantly reduce the volume of waste in landfills, and by extension, the number of landfills needed! Great for the Environment - many forms of energy production, resource extraction, material collection, material refining, and processing practices require combustion of Fossil Fuels such as oil and gasoline, either directly or by extension. Participation in Recycling greatly reduces the amount and frequency of these practices and as a result, reduces greenhouse gas generation! If you are ready but don't know where to start, check our infographics below!
