One of the biggest needle movers when it comes to supporting your hormones- or health in general - is to EAT MORE VEGGIES. supports healthy gut function supports liver detoxification contains essential micro-nutrients ... If you need some ideas to help you ADD more veggies into your diet, here's some things to try Add to soups, chili's, casseroles, etc Add into baked goods (shredded zucchini or carrots are my go-to's for this) Add to your breakfast plates (ex. scrambled eggs with tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, etc) Create your own sauce with added veggies (ex. onions, peppers into marinara sauce) Add handful of greens into your smoothie Add a side of roasted veggies to your main meals Snack on raw veggies with a fat-based dip to enhance the flavor (hummus, guacamole, etc) Do you have any favorite ways you like to ADD veggies into your meals daily? I talk about smoothies A LOT.. I guess I'm a pretty big fan. But just like any other meal, a smoothie also needs to be BALANCED. Starting your day with a nutrient dense, balanced breakfast can help to eliminate those energy swings, irritable moods, and intense cravings you feel throughout the day. I find the most efficient way to do this is to whip up a morning smoothie ... Here's my tips for creating the perfect smoothie Step 1 : GREENS - we all need more greens in our diet. Add a handful or two of dark leafy greens (spinach, kale, arugula, etc) Step 2 HEALTHY FAT - Our female bodies NEED fats to function properly. My favourite sources for smoothies include nuts, seeds, avocado, + coconut oil. Step 3: PROTEIN - Every meal should contain a good source of protein ESPECIALLY breakfast. Greek yogurt, protein powder, collagen peptides, and hemp seeds are all good sources of protein you can add to your smoothie. Step 4: FIBRE- add some taste AND fibre with berries, bananas, or other fruit of choice. Be sure to watch the amount for fruit you add - too much can give you a spike in blood sugar Step 5: SUPERFOODS- Why not add in a little extra Ginger, Turmeric, Lemon, Lime, Maca, Cacao, etc are all great options! Step 6: LIQUID - The amount of liquid you add will depend on what type of consistency you like. Water, Coconut water, Or nut milk of choice Blend it up & top with your favorite toppings!
