Science Video: Borax crystals *Make sure to wash your hands afterwards or wear gloves while doing this experiment. *Adult supervision required Materials needed:... Food coloring (optional) 1/3 cup borax Boiling water Mason jars/plastic cups Spoon 3 Wooden skewers 3 different coloured pipe cleaners String Scissors 1. Cut 3 pieces string into shorter lengths and set aside. 2. Make shapes out of your pipe cleaners. Tie the string onto the pipe cleaners once you have your shapes. 3. Tie the other end of the string onto your wooden skewers. Set aside. 4. In each cup mix 1/3 cup of borax with boiling water. Leave a little room at the top of each of your cups. Add food coloring if desired. Make sure borax is dissolved. 5. Place wooden skewers with your pipe cleaner shapes over the top of your plastic cups so that your pipe cleaner shapes are emerged into your borax mixture. 6. You have to be patient. Wait 1 or 2 days. Each day look at your pipe cleaners and see if any new crystals have grown. *Do not take your pipe cleaners out of the cups.

Flubber Materials Needed 3/4 cup of cold water... 1 cup of glue Food coloring 1/2 cup of hot water 1 tsp borax 2 stirring utensils 2 bowls 1 Tupperware container 1. In bowl number 1, combine cold water, food coloring and glue. Stir. 2. In bowl number 2, combine hot water and borax. Stir until dissolved. 3. Add bowl number 2, to bowl number 1. Mix well. Drain off any access water and store in a Tupperware container.

Bouncy Balls -Borax -Gloves -1 Table spoon... -1/2 teaspoon -Food coloring -School glue - 2 bowls - 2 stirring utensils How to do it 1. In first bowl mix 2 Tbsp of warm water with 1/2 teaspoon of borax. Stir until dissolved and set aside. 2. In second bowl combine 1 Tbsp of glue, add 1/2 teaspoon of your borax mixture (slowly) and 1Tbsp of cornstarch. Let ingredients sit for a few seconds then slowly stir. 3. It should get really hard to stir. Once this happens take the bouncy ball out of the bowl and roll in hands (make sure to wear gloves) 4. See if it will bounce once it has its shape.

So today we made another BIG announcement that will help us move a little closer to opening a new centre in New Waterford. A former resident of New Waterford is... donating this car to be put up for Auction. All the proceeds will be going towards creating a new Undercurrent Centre in New Waterford. Tomorrow at 5 PM we will be giving out the details on the car, how people can bid (starting bid is $35,000), and more info. For now all I will say is this is Awesome. The car is appraised at $67,000.
