*Long post* I want you to think about something you spent hours, days, months, decades creating. Something you beleive in so much that you would do anything for. For US, Under The Gi was that. WE studied, lived and breathed everything about garment construction. Lost many good friendships. Started new ones. Had horrible ideas, had great ones. Made horrid decisions and made some great ones. we always stayed true to our CORE VALUES and had integrity. MAYBE not everyone's cup... of tea and so much to learn along the way but it's O. K. *Our factory is closed* To be MADE IN CANADA to us here at Under the gi is the following: Sometimes we start to draw very rudementery sketches. Then it gets elaborate on the graphic design aspect where we can go so much more into detail. All this while @catarinamachina cuts into fabric she has tested and bought from a CANADIAN MILL (IN MONTREAL) (we do have another supplier for our premium fabric in Italy but that's for special orders and you who order it know what I'm talking about...) So yes the fabric we use is MADE IN CANADA, Cat herself will print cut and sew the first sample, test for fit and make any changes to the location of design placement. After all this is done, Cat will mass print sometimes even using CANADIAN SUBLIMATION PRINTING companies to help support the community, ( in return she does alot of prototyping and sewing for these same companies. This how we help eachother. Then we would cut ever single piece at our factory and then sew every piece in our factory and do quality control. So yes, we do not compete with the dollar amount of getting a garment made by companies who manufacture overseas. By doing team gear here in Canada we were not making profit, but bringing a new level of makers into our country, gaining experience, showing the new generation of Canadian designers how things are made, how to be involved with every single aspect of creating something from start to finish in Canada. Giving Canadian jobs, good salary and benefits. That's why we do what we do. We will be open soon. MADE IN CANADA. Be inspired. Inspire others.

We had to shut down our factory operations due to Public Health guidelines. We deeply apologize for the impact this causes with planned orders. We do hope to reopen the factory in the near future in some capacity. Design work can and will move ahead once we sort out our remote work strategy in coming days. Once we reopen the factory, production queues will be based on first-in for completed designs. We will still be reopening our web store in the near term.
