April 4th, 2020Changes to the Construction Sector re: Essential Workplaces Due to the government changes to Essential Service Businesses operating effective April 4, 2020 - My company "Unfinished Business" is required to postpone start dates of all new projects. I’m still booking projects and providing estimates for customers. That being said, I won't be able to do an onsite estimate until the emergency orders have been lifted by the Government. A quick call and a few photos... is proving to be very effective. I’m inviting new customers and clients to reach out to me to arrange for a virtual estimate. Stay safe everyone and please be patient. Together, we’ll get through this. Ron Changes to the Construction Sector re: Essential Workplaces: https://www.ontario.ca/page/list-essential-workplaces

Hi friends, Last spring, school of hard knocks taught me and my fiancé that our heavy-duty padlock wasn’t enough to keep thieves out of our garden shed. A few changes can increase the security of your shed and its contents. Let’s get ready for summer fun! I RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING UPGRADES: Installation of a heavy-duty Master Lock (Puck lock) (or a similar quality lock)... Replace standard short hinge screws with lag bolts Install a simple solar security light Use a spray frosting or film on shed windows to reduce visibility Please give me a call and let me take care of your unfinished business. Ron

A different kind of spring for businesses and home owners. Hello friends and customers. I’ve had many of you reach out with questions about upcoming projects and safety in light of Covid 19.... Maintenance or urgent repair projects are still a concern for home owners. In light of social or physical distancing, I am prioritizing my new projects to support Covid 19 protocols. And for those of you who may not be familiar with my business, I work independently, and I will be the only person working on your home projects. As sole proprietor of my new business, I recognize and recommend that interior projects be postponed if they can’t be achieved with strict observation of the new emerging laws around Covid 19 and our national safety. With the good weather around the corner, it’s a good time to schedule your spring maintenance projects or repairs. As I've ventured down the path to building my own business, I must share that I am thoroughly impressed with the Small Business Centre in London. Great resources, knowledgeable Advisors, like Phil and great seminars. Like "The Nuts & Bolts of Building A Construction Trades Business" On January 14th, the Small Business Centre held a seminar, The Nuts & Bolts of Building A Construction Trades Business. The seminar provided an overview of important topics in the construction tra...des industry. Participants were delighted to hear from guest entrepreneurs Peder Madsen of CCR Building & Remodeling, and Steve Check of Nature’s Image who spoke to the crowd about their journeys and experiences in their businesses. sbcentre.ca/ Snap'd Magazine was on hand to cover this event as well. There's so much more to building a successful business than "jumping in the truck and heading to a job site" Investing time and resources is an integral part of the process.
