Unicel Architectural recently provided nearly 100 ViuLite hermetically sealed glass units with integrated blinds for Nantucket Cottage Hospital, an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital. A flashback to when we provided Vision Control sliding doors for The Mount Sinai Hospital's Guggenheim Pavilion renovation and upgrade of inpatient units, including intensive care spaces for cardiac patients. This included 14 private rooms and a mandate to enhance both patient environments and provide more accessible and efficient nursing care. A key architectural element was to add sliding doors, because they operate easily and automatically. But they also move incessantly, ...especially in ICUs where critical patients require constant care from nursing stations. Unicel Architectural worked with partner Labbé-Laroche et Gagné-Leclerc to provide 280 sq. m. of RAICO Therm+ HI 56 mm timber curtain wall at bibliothèque Jacques-Lemoyne-de-Sainte-Marie, in Varennes, Que. The net-zero building is capable of producing as much electricity as it consumes, and now bathes library patrons in soothing natural light.
