We laughed at a funny shaped egg that one of the chickens layed in October

October inside fun. We still spend many hours outside, but there are times we go inside.

Our baby chicks. Spotty and Peeper (the 2 from our first batch - we refer to them as the teenagers) graduated to their own space in the chicken coop to give up the nursery bin for the newborn chicks that started hatching early October. We got a total of 8 babies, 4 yellow, and 4 darker colored ones. 1 arrived a few days after the others and we weren't sure it would make it, but she did. We kept her by herself until we thought she was strong enough, and then introduced her to her siblings, who welcomed her with open wings. After a few weeks Spotty and Peeper moved in with the big chickens to let the chicks have their own space in the coop. The 8 of them grew out of the nursery bin pretty quickly! What a joy to see them grow.
